OVS S.p.A. is a leader in the Italian clothing market, operating under a business model which is typical of vertically integrated retailers. Its sales network covers Italy and extends abroad with stores of different sizes and management methods.
For the international locations of OVS, the goal was to provide a database for the stores and the employees that work there, as well as a bi-directional tool to deliver content and collect feedback.
With the DCMS survey of the international stores and all employees, the goal then became the distribution of documentation in the stores and the substitution of the processes which, up to this point, were paper-based or entrusted to programs such as Excel. This required an enterprise-version tool able to manage the authorised workflows for the opening of a new store or the creation and sharing of commercial calendars across OVS stores.
Applied to the retail industry, know-how deriving from an analogous tool used in the insurance market with regard to the issues of managing companies, agents, brokers and intermediaries has allowed Sysdata to master the functional part and to build a parameterizable, configurable asset.
Through a series of project streams – New Opening Process (NOP), the Commercial Calendar and Drive Live – the DCMS made it possible to survey and display all international OVS stores and to map the staff employed within them, opening a documented distribution channel to all stores and switching from paper-based processes or digital means which weren’t company-wide to an internal, collaborative system which allows everyone involved to connect and better manage the store dynamics and share information.
