With head offices in Buttrio (UD), and world leader in steelmaking, Danieli & C. Officine Meccaniche S.p.A. is the main company of a group comprising 17 companies, each one specialising in the design and production of different types of steel and industrial plants.
Danieli’s IT and Business management team expressed the need for a tool that could assist inspectors in the purchasing department in checking the progress of orders, making changes to the scheduled delivery dates, taking notes and filling in and signing forms directly on-site during visits.
Inspectors need to be provided with a tablet platform that can be integrated with the ERP system, that can also work off-line and provide benefits on-site, such as speeding up the execution of low value-added activities, providing standard reports enhanced with digital content and increasing the speed at which all information is entered into the system.
Sysdata provided the expertise required to ensure that the interface was as functional as possible in terms of development and design, all the while making the most of its experience in system integration to optimise and facilitate integration with the client’s ERP system.
The result was a tool for the client that integrates numerous features designed to improve and simplify the work of on-site inspectors, who now have access to the online archive of design databases via a company account. One of the app's various features includes Mobile Expediting, which makes it possible to perform activities remotely and to synchronise data once network connection resumes, at the same time ensuring greater simplicity in the compilation of inspection data with pre-defined templates.
